SUMMARY:Aberdeenshire Adventure Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to Get Into Summer and sportscotland funding kindly distributed to us by Aberdeenshire ClubSport\, we’re delighted to be able to offer a series of half-day adventure camps for people living in Aberdeenshire with disabilities and additional support needs aged 8 – 17\, and their families.  \nThe camps will take place at Lochter Activity Centre just outside Oldmeldrum and there is no charge to attend. The activities will be led by Lochter staff\, and Alison from Scottish Disability Sport will be in attendance at all sessions to offer guidance & support\, but all child attendees must be accompanied by a parent or carer (who can opt to book a space to participate too or solely attend to support the person they care for). There are limited spaces available on a first-come-first-served basis. \nFor morning camps\, please feel free to bring your packed lunch to enjoy after the activities have finished. Refreshments are also available in the on-site cafe.  All camps will provide 3 activity sessions & each camp will last approximately 3 hours. \nAll activity-specific equipment will be provided by Lochter\, but please make sure you have a change of clothes and wet weather clothing to hand in case of adverse weather. An accessible toilet is available on-site\, although it does not have a changing table. DESCRIPTION:We’re now inviting entries for this year’s very first Scottish Disability Sport Virtual Sportshall Athletics competition. \n  \nThe event is open to participants of all ages and disability types from across Scotland\, and we’d love to have a strong Grampian team representing us. \n  \nDetails are as follows: \n  \nSign-up & Practice Time: Now until 30/04/2021 \nCompetition Dates: 03/05/21 – 14/05/21 \nEvents (all events will be demonstrated on the Scottish Disability Sport YouTube Channel & are described in Virtual Sportshall 2021 – Participant Info): \n\nEvent 1: 75m Shuttle Sprint\nEvent 2: Target Throw\nEvent 3: Standing Long Jump\nEvent 4: Chest Push\nEvent 5: Speed Bounce\n\nVenue: Home\, school\, the park…wherever there’s space (whilst keeping in line with up-to-date COVID-19 guidelines). \nHow to sign up: \n\nEmail alison.shaw@scottishdisabilitysport.com with your school name (where applicable) and the following details of everyone with a disability that you’d like to enter (you can do this via spreadsheet if you wish):\n\nName\nGender\nYear Group (there is an option of ‘Adult’ for non-school participants).\nDate of Birth\nContact Email Address\nClassification (please see the above Participant Info document for details of classes)\n\n\nPlease make sure you read the Scottish Disability Sport Privacy Notice before entering.\n\nI’m part of a mainstream school: We’d welcome schools to include their whole classes/schools in the events as part of an in-school competition\, with the results of pupils with disabilities being carried forward to the SDS event. \n  \nDuring the competition period\, results should be sent in to Alison at the above email address to be included in the Opentrack website and to count towards the regional score. DESCRIPTION:Calling all bowlers with physical\, visual or learning disabilities! From 6th May 2019\, we’ll be accepting entries for this year’s qualification event for the SDS National Lawn Bowls Championships – our Regional Championships\, which takes place in June at the recently-refurbished Albury Outdoor Sports Centre. \nThe Centre’s green is accessible via a ramp and there are various pieces of equipment to aid bowlers of all disability types including string & clock faces for blind bowlers. \nJoin us for a fun-filled afternoon of bowling action. Try out different equipment\, learn skills and drills and get the opportunity to participate in a friendly-yet-competitive game. All football equipment is provided. Just bring your powerchair\, a snack and drink\, and plenty of energy! \nFollowing the taster session\, we hope to establish weekly sessions in the Aberdeen Area.
