DESCRIPTION:Date: 22 August (Saturday)\nTime: 10am to 1.30pm (Opening Speeches at 11am)\nVenue: Moray Sports Centre\, Linkwood\, Elgin\nVisitors will have the chance to take part in a variety of free and inclusive ‘come &\ntry’ activities\, including boccia\, indoor curling\, table cricket\, taekwondo and\nswordseat fencing. The event will also feature information stalls from organisations\nincluding Moray Active Schools and Community Sports Hub\, Moray Reach Out\,\nMoray UHI\, North East Sensory Services\, Elgin Sports Community Trust and Police\nScotland. Activity leaders will be on hand throughout the day to introduce\nparticipants to the sports and explain how to get involved locally.

DESCRIPTION:The Parasport Festival is aimed at children with a physical disability\,\nvision impairment or hearing loss\, learning disability and Down\nSyndrome\nEntry is open to pupils in P4-S6 across Aberdeen City\, Aberdeenshire\nand Moray.\nThe event is designed to allow young people to experience a wide\nrange of parasports and physical activities delivered by clubs and\ncoaches available in Grampian.\nWe have selected activities where we have club links or who are keen\nto develop inclusion and diversity in their sport so children and young\npeople can continue to participate and develop locally within\nGrampian.\nThe Parasport Festival has been running since 2009 and this year\nGrampian Disability Sport are pleased to be funding and organising\nthe event in Inverurie Academy.

SUMMARY:Norma Buist Swimming Gala
DESCRIPTION:The Norma Buist Swimming Gala is aimed at children and young\npeople up to\, and including\, the age of 18 with any disability who can\nswim at least 25 metres of a recognised stroke unaided.  You do not need to be a member of a swim club\, It gives the\nopportunity for these young people to compete with their peers in an\ninclusive environment within a fair playing field. It gives them the\nopportunity to grow and develop at their own pace and ability and\nmakes success an achievable. goal.\nThe system of time banding used is widely adopted in disability sport\nacross Scotland and is recognised as encouraging success\,\nenjoyment\, and fun\, while taking steps towards a competitive\npathway if qualifying times are achied and if wanted.\nThis gala is the qualifier for the National Learning Disability Junior\nChampionships held in Scotland each year and also supports a\npathway to the National Junior Championships for those with\nphysical and /or sensory impairments held in Grangemouth. Selection\nfor these National Championships are based on qualifying times from\nour Grampian Disability Sport Norma Buist and Mary Duncan Galas as\nset by Scottish Disability Sport.
